Born on 13th February 1958 in Warsaw.
Graduated from the Faculty of History of the University of Warsaw in 1984 and completed postgraduate pedagogical studies at the same educational establishment in 1985. Obtained a PhD in humanities degree in history in 1996 and received the habilitated doctor degree in 2004. Granted the title of Professor of Humanities in 2013.
1984−1990 – a history teacher in Warsaw high schools. 1997−2006 – worked at the Tadeusz Manteuffel Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Science. Lecturer of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw since 2003; 2007−2013 – the head of the Modern Church History Department. 2000−2015 – worked for the Institute of National Remembrance, among others as the director of the Public Education Bureau (2006−2009) and an adviser to the Institute’s president (2009−2010).
Active in the area of opinion journalism. Former editor-in-chief of the “Szaniec Chrobrego” National Armed Forces combatant magazine (1995−1998) and the “Na Poważnie” bimonthly (2012). The editor-in-chief of the “wSieci Historii” monthly since 2013.
President of “Polska Jest Najważniejsza” Association (since 2011) and chairman of the Historical Commission of the Committee for Commemorating Poles Saving Jews.
Member of the Historical Council of the Association of Polish Armed Forces Soldiers.
Initiator of the work on the “W służbie Niepodległej” series published by the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw.
Member of the Solidarity Trade Union.
Has no political party affiliation.
Married, has three children.
