Born on 1st May 1955 in Kalisz.
Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University in Poznań in 1980.
Received a second degree specialisation in pa ediatrics in 1990; obtained a specialisation in the field of public health in 2004. Received the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences in 2005 and the habilitated doctor degree in 2014.
He began his professional career in 1980 as a doctor in a municipal hospital in Pleszew, where he worked until 1992. 1985–1992 – the head and doctor in the Rural Health Centre in Jastrzębniki. 1992−1993 – the Minister of Health and Social Welfare. 1994−1996 − worked as a visiting researcher in Georgetown University in Washington. Received American professional certificates in public health administration and management.
2005−2006 – the Under-secretary of State at the Ministry of Health. 2006−2010 – the Chief Sanitary Inspector; 2015 – the District Sanitary Inspector in Kalisz. 2010−2012 – the director of the Institute of Rural Medicine im. Witold Chodźko in Lublin and head of its Health, Food and Nutrition Promotion Department. 2012−2015 − a lecturer at the Department of Maternal and Child Health at the K. Marcinkowski Medical University in Poznań. Since 2014 – an associate professor at the State Higher Vocational School in Kalisz. Since 2014 – a doctor at Pleszewo Medical Center; he is also a development coordinator of this facility.
1990−1994 – a member of the Blizanów Municipal Council and the delegate to Kaliskie Provincial Parliament.
Deputy president of the Management Board of Polish Society of Hygiene and a member of: Management Board of Prevention Alliance in Lyon (France), Ethnic and Governance Committee in International Prevention Research Institute in Lyon
(France) and Greater Poland Chamber of Physicians in Poznań.
Deputy chairman of the Health Committee and member of the Constitutional Accountability Committee in the First Term Sejm. Chairman of the Standing Public Health Committee and deputy chairman of the Health Committee as well as member of the Physical Culture and Tourism Committee in the Third Term Sejm. Deputy chairman of the Health Committee and member of the Physical Culture and Tourism Committee in the Fourth Term Sejm.
Member of Poland Together United Right.
Married, has two children.
