Born on 13th June 1952 in Zielona Góra.
Graduated in sociological studies from the Faculty of Social Sciences of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań in 1977.
Has worked as a family court-appointed custodian and is a specialist custodian for 37 years. 2002−2005 – a deputy chairman of the National Custodian’s Council.
2008−2015 – a deputy district family custodian of Gdańsk District Court.
Co-creator of the Solidarity Trade Union in Gdańsk District Court (1980); member of works committee. 1980−1981 – a member of the Presidium of the National Coordination Committee of the Solidarity Trade Union Department of Justice.
2002−2005− deputy to the Pomorskie Provincial Parliament.
1994 − one of the organisers of the Family Council under Gdańsk governor and Marshal of Gdańskie Provincial Parliament, which he chaired for 5 years.
1994−1996 − member of the Family Committee of the Polish Episcopal Conference.
Appointed as a member of the Family Issues Team of the Joint Committee of the Government and the Polish Episcopal Conference in 2008.
Active member of many family support organisation. Deputy chairman of Polska Federacja Ruchów Obrony Życia (Polish Pro-life Movement Federation), which brings together 86 pro-family organisations. Author of numerous articles on social policy.
Co-organiser of international congresses: “For the Dignity of Motherhood” (1988), “For the Dignity of Fatherhood” (1999), “For the Dignity of the Child” (2001).
Deputy chairman and subsequently chairman of the Family Committee in the Third Term Sejm. Member of the Social Policy Committee. Chairman of the Family and Social Policy Committee in the Sixth Term Senate.
Received the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice medal from Pope Benedict XVI.
Has no political party affiliation.
Married, has three daughters.
