Born on 12th September 1974 in Gdańsk. A political scientist by education.
His social activity started in the Independent Students’ Association, led by him in 1996−1998. Served as the vice-president of European Democrat Students, an international student organisation, in 1999−2000.
Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Education, Science and Youth Committee of the Third Term Sejm; member of the European Union Affairs Committee and the Constitutional Accountability Committee in the Fourth Term Sejm. 2003–2004 – a Sejm observer to the European Parliament. Elected a member of the European Parliament of the Sixth Term in 2004. Joined the Union for a Europe of the Nations group.
2007−2009 – the chairman of the Polish delegation. Former Vice President of the European Parliament and of the EP’s Delegation to the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly. Worked in the Foreign Affairs Committee, the Committee on
Regional Development and the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee.
Originator and initiator of “Koło Polskie”, an association of all Polish MEPs. Obtained a mandate of a member of the European Parliament once again in 2009. Co-creator and Vice President of the European Conservatives and Reformists group. Continued to sit in the Foreign Affairs Committee, became the coordinator of the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee and a member of the Delegation for relations with the countries of South-East Asia (ASEAN). The most active Polish MEP in the 2009−2014 term according to www.MEPranking.eu.
Joined the Law and Justice political party in 2001; spokesman of the party until 2010.
Has been associated with Poland Together United Right since 2014. Appointed as deputy chairman of the party in 2015.
Married, has two children.
