Czesław Ryszka

Deputy to the 3rd Term Sejm

Born on 3rd July 1946 in Lędziny-Goławiec.
Graduated from the Faculty of Theology (1973) and from the Faculty of Humanities (1974) at the Catholic University of Lublin (CUL).
1974–1976 – worked at the CUL Religious Literature Research Institute. 1976–1982 – editor of “Gość Niedzielny” weekly, published in Katowice; 1982–1993 – headed the religious department at “Katolik” weekly also in Katowice. 1993–2013 – editor of the national “Niedziela” weekly.
Wrote several dozen socio-religious books – some were translated and published abroad. Published six books on the papal theme, including the monograph entitled “Jan Paweł II Wielki”. Author of the so-called “Jasna Góra trilogy”: “Przeor Kordecki”, “Opowieść jasnogórska” and “Blizny”. He devoted three books to his parliamentary work: “Prosto z Sejmu”, “Prosto i jasno z Senatu” and “Widziane z Senatu”.
Deputy chairman of the national committee of Jerzy Popiełuszko Christian Solidarity Trade Union.
Member of the Committee on the Family, the Justice and Human Rights Committee, the Culture and Media Committee, the Competition and Consumer Protection Committee in the Third Term Sejm. Deputy chairman of the Culture and Media Committee and a member of the Emigration Affairs and Contacts with Poles Abroad Committee in the Sixth Term Senate. Member of the Culture and Media Committee, the Environment Committee and the Emigration Affairs and Contacts with Poles Abroad Committee in the Seventh Term Senate. Member of the Culture and Media Committee and the Environment Committee in the Eighth Term Senate.
Member of the Law and Justice political party.
Married, has three children.
