Born on 14th March 1947 in Potok Stany.
Graduated from Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry of the Maria Skłodowska-Curie University in Lublin in 1973 with the master’s degree in math.
Between 1973 and 1976 was working on his PhD thesis and from 1987 to 1995 he was a research assistant at the Institute of Mathematics of Polish Academy of Sciences. Received a PhD in mathematics in 1977 and a title of doctor habilitated in 1994. Promoted to associate professor in 2002. Became an assistant professor at the Department of Mathematics in University of Joensuu in Finland in 1992. Has been awarded the doctorate honoris causa by Ukrainian universities: the Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University in Luck and the National University of Water Management and Nature Resources Use in Rivne.
Between 1976 and 1987 he lectured in the University of Maria Skłodowska-Curie in Lublin. Between 1991 and 1993 he was an associate professor at the University of Joensuu in Finland and Hokkaido University in Osaka, Japan. Since 1996 he
has been an associate professor at the Catholic University of Lublin. Advisor on IT and database organization at the Chełm Cement Works in 1997 and 1998. As an associate professor, he lectured at: the Academy of Economics in Nisk (1998–2004), the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów (1999–2001) and at the University of Rzeszów (2005–2006). Between 1999 and 2001 he was the dean of Faculty of Economics and Management of the Academy of Foreign Languages and Economics in Częstochowa. From 2001 – the rector of the State School of Higher Education in Chełm.
He is a mathematician, specialist in the field of application of complex analysis and mathematical economy. He published over 110 scientific works in national and international journals, as well as 2 manuals on navigation and on aviation phraseology.
He is a reviewer in “Mathematical Reviews”, an electronic database and a journal published by American Mathematical Society.
He is a member of Public Vocational Schools Rectors Conference, the Joined Lublin Province Programme Council Headquarters and European Education Centre of the Voluntary Labour Corps, the board of Fundacja na rzecz Osób Niepełnosprawnych i Potrzebujących Pomocy “Otwórzmy swoje serca” (a foundation helping the handicapped and people in need).
Active in Fundacja Partnerstwo i Współpraca (foundation) promoting the Polish-Ukrainian dialogue.
Member of the Science, Education and Sports Committee and the National Defence Committee in the Eighth Term Senate.
