Deputy to the First, Second and Third Term Sejm

Born on 18th April 1944 in Bydgoszcz.
1979 – graduated from the Mechanical Faculty of Jan and Jędrzej Śniadecki University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz.
1963 – began studies at the Military University of Technology in Warsaw, but was expelled disciplinarily for having refused to cast a vote in Sejm elections in 1965, and jailed on desertion charges. Between 1966 and 1969 – a political prisoner, employed as a quality controller at Przedsiębiorstwo Obróbki Metali POMET (metal works) in Stargard Szczeciński. From 1970 to 1980 worked at Zakłady Rowerowe “Romet” (bicycle manufacturer) in Bydgoszcz as design engineer, 1984–1985 – at Zakłady Rowerowe ”Romet” in Kowalewo Wielkopolskie. Expelled from work, between 1985 and 1989 was a taxi driver. Reinstated in his position at Fabryka Rowerów ”Romet-Kowalewo” in 1989. Between 2001 and 2006 operated a fine mechanics workshop specializing in office equipment repairs. Assistant to the Bydgoszcz mayor for urban development strategy in 2007.
Long-time union activist, a member of the Solidarity Trade Union. 1974–1980 – the chairman of the Metal Workers’ Trade Union at Zakłady Rowerowe in Bydgoszcz.
Chairman of the Bydgoszcz regional section of the Solidarity Trade Union (in 1980–1981 and in 1990). 1991–1992 – a deputy chairman of Solidarity’s national committee.
Interned for political activities during the martial law period.
Member of the Social Policy Committee in the First, Second and Third Term Sejm.
Deputy chairman of the Family Committee in the Third Term Sejm. Between 1994 and 2002 and from 2007 to 2015 – a member of the Labour Protection Council at the Sejm. Deputy chairman of the Family and Social Policy Committee, a member of the Science, Education and Sports Committee and the Human Rights, the Rule of Law and Petitions Committee in the Seventh Term Senate. Deputy chairman of the Human Rights, the Rule of Law and Petitions Committee and a member of the Family, Senior and Social Policy Committee in the Eighth Term.
Has no political party affiliation.
Married, has five children.
