Born on 14th June 1962 in Wrocław.
Graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry of the University of Wrocław in 1987.
Between 1987 and 1990 he was an assistant lecturer at the Wrocław Academy of Economics.
1990–2001 – a member of Wrocław City Council, and its chairman between 1998 and 2001. 1990–1998 – simultaneously was a member of the Wrocław Executive Board.
Between 1994 and 1998 – a deputy to Wrocławskie Provincial Parliament. Between 2001 and 2011 – a vice-mayor of Wrocław.
He is the vice-chairman of the Council of Eastern Europe College of Jan Nowak-Jeziorański Foundation.
Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Local Government and State Administration Committee in the Eighth Term Senate.
Has no political party affiliation.
Married, has two children.
